La Sciumara - Rada di Mezzo Schifo
Located in western Palau, La Sciumara Beach has a rather rough sandy bottom, cream color, not very deep, surrounded by cliffs in western Palau. The colors you see when you reach the beach are of great beauty, between the green of the Mediterranean date palms and the holm oak, the blue of the water, and the pale color of the sand. The beauty of this place is enhanced by the distant view of the island of La Maddalena.
From Palau, easy walk to the beach with ample free parking, a small section of beach dedicated to umbrellas that can be rented at the sailing school, the windsurfing school located behind the beach. It is suitable for all tastes: frequented by families with children who have the opportunity to play in the sand and swim in shallow water, and young couples. Just above the beach, you'll find a bar with tables under the shade of trees, where you can also dine or wait for sunset aperitifs.
The beach is known to the inhabitants of Palau as Sciumara because the mouth stream cuts across the beach. The name Mezzo Schifo probably refers to the half-hull of the wreck present in local waters.
