Porto Pollo

Porto Pollo - a bay with turquoise waters and fine white sand, surrounded by Mediterranean bushes. Located between Palau and Santa Teresa Gallura, near the mouth of the Liscia River, Porto Pollo merges the mainland and the beautiful Isola Dei Gabbiani through a thin stretch of sand. Two beach isthmus fanned out with dunes, covered with lavender, mastic, and juniper trees. It is a natural watersports gym.

The area is hit by wind, sometimes strong winds. That is why it is a popular destination for sailors and windsurfers, and kitesurfers. Somewhere along the bay, there will always be perfect surfing conditions interspersed with flat sea elsewhere. For those who love windsurfing, the wind blowing in their hair, full sails, and white foam in the waves are a common sight at this beach, as well as at nearby Barrabisa. Those who are less interested in sports or want to enjoy the calm days and dreamy sunsets sheltered by the wind.

The bay is very famous. It offers plenty of accessible parking. Thanks to its shallow bottom, it is very suitable for children. Umbrellas and other beach equipment can be rented, and there is a windsurfing and sailing school. Bars, restaurants, hotels, and campsites immerse themselves in secluded rocky coves, surrounded by the colors and smells of Mediterranean dates that are characteristic of the Gallura coast. Don't miss the chance to tour the entire 18 hectares of Isola Dei Gabbiani's natural paradise, and nearby, visit other Palau treasures: the unspoiled beauty of Punta Sardegna, the exotic looks of Cala Trana, Porto Magnificent Faro, and the natural monument of Roccia dell'Orso.
