Labi
Little Labi settlement, located in the Sultanate's south-western region, is one of the main destinations for ecotourists visiting Brunei. It's essentially simply a cluster of bamboo dwellings and rain-soaked settlements on the outskirts of the Labi Forest Reserve.
That means guests will be able to mingle with gibbons, geckos, and a variety of other woodland creatures while searching for gushing waterfalls, wetlands, and undiscovered forest hiking trails. In the village, there are a few good nature lodges, while nearby Terawan and Tarunan have their own guesthouse alternatives.
The enormous reserves of the Labi Forest stretch from Brunei's south-western lowlands to the borderlands where Malaysia's Gunung Mulu park washes down from the Borneo highlands, and are named after the little settlement on its outskirts.
It's a wild and untamed region with stunning views of the jungle's peaks, Wasai Kadir's cascading waterfalls, and opportunities to encounter uncommon rainforest critters on the trails. Traditional Iban longhouses, which line the dirt roads near the reserve, are another big draw.
