Laginha Beach

Laginha Beach is to Mindelo, Sao Vicente what Copacabana is to Rio de Janeiro! It's the home beach of Mindelo, the cultural center of Cape Verde, which is known for its music and artists. Mindelo is only a 10-minute walk away from the beach. It isn't particularly large, but it has the island's clearest blue waters and the finest golden sand!

A beach bar has opened, delivering refreshing drinks and delectable appetizers. It's the ideal spot for a day at the beach while watching Mindelo go about his business. Laginha Beach is wind-protected and safe for swimming. If you're lucky, you might even be able to help out at one of the beach events! But you should not go to Laginha Beach late at night because it may be unsafe! Just a short walk from the beach is Oasis Porto Grande Hotel and Kira's Hotel, both wonderful accommodation options on the island.
