Cape Verde, in comparison to many other vacation spots, has only been on the tourist radar for a few years, thus it is still relatively unknown. With ten ... read more...

  1. Santa Maria Beach extends along the south coast of Sal, Cape Verde's most developed island. It's a long stretch of golden sand that attracts both sunbathers and water sport enthusiasts throughout the winter months, when it transforms into a windsurfing, kiteboarding, and sailing paradise. Santa Maria Beach feels like heaven, with colorful fishing boats sprinkled along the shore, a fishing pier, beach bars, and stunning blue shallow water lapping along the sand.

With its turquoise waters and fine golden sand, it's a dream come true! Plus, there will be plenty of things to do! It is here that you will locate all of Cape Verde's greatest luxury resorts and hotels! On Santa Maria Beach, there are numerous beach bars and restaurants. As a result, it's the ideal spot to relax and unwind. Expect to see a lot of people and visitors during high season, as it is the most popular beach! The water is tranquil and inviting for swimming. You can a long walk down Santa Maria Beach's pier, where the fisherman sell their catch of the day.

This is also the finest location to base yourself at if you wish to schedule boat journeys to any of the other islands in the archipelago during your trip. It is located within easy reach of the town of Sal, and hence practically on the doorstep of your hotel.

  2. Santa Monica Beach, the Pearl of Boa Vista Island, is fully sand-covered, and there is no shingle anywhere on the island. The sand is light yellow and "desert" everywhere. On the entire shoreline, the distinctive color does not alter.

There will not be a dramatic increase in depth when you enter the sea - there will be 20-30 meters of shallow water, so there is nothing to be concerned about, and there will be no dangerous "pits" or currents. However, everything is much more dismal when it comes to the potential of cutting - the main point is that there are a lot of mollusks on the island's coastline, and their shells are incredibly sharp, so it's very simple to get hurt here.

It is unquestionably difficult to say anything about popularity and crookedness. When you compare the Santa Monica beach to the other beaches on Boa Vista Island, you'll notice that there's "hardly room to move" - people are present at all hours of the day and night, despite the fact that the other beaches on the island aren't particularly popular. Santa Monica beach, despite its modernity, will not entice fans of a peaceful rest and European-quality service (and the country of Cape Verde as a whole). This location, however, is ideal for diving and surfing! As a result, the "target audience" of the Santa Monica beach is primarily comprised of young individuals who prefer active relaxation and enjoy extreme sports. And they are the center of attention for the entire infrastructure.

Another attraction of the Santa Monica beach is the opportunity to observe sea turtles. They have become so accustomed to tourists and are unafraid of them that it is even possible to observe how small turtles hatch from their shells and dash to the sea (many vacationers only here broke the stereotype, that turtles move slowly). The authorities here strictly safeguard these animals (along with everyone else), so tourists will always have a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the biodiversity.

  3. Praia de Chaves is worth a visit if you want to enjoy a beach scene that is second to none, with sand dunes as far as the eye can see. With 5.6 kilometers of sand surrounding you, you'll feel like you're the last person on the earth, so if you want to genuinely get away from it all, this is the place to be. The Iberostar Club Boa Vista, an all-inclusive hotel where you may wake up to the sound of the waves gently lapping up the shore, is one of only a few hotels sprinkled along this coastline on the west coast of the island. Sounds like a dream come true?

Praia de Chaves is a fantastic site for wind and kite surfing due to the consistent wind and size of the waves. It is a prominent surfing spot with a Kite & Surfing School. Because the waves can be quite rough at times, you only enter the water where and when permitted, and obey all lifeguard directions. It's also a great area to go for a walk along the water's edge, dodging the waves.

  4. São Pedro Beach on the island of São Vicente is ideal for individuals who love active relaxation and a variety of beach sports. The first item that attracts the attention is the beach admission charge. It'll set you back a few euros. However, there is a shower and a tiny bar on the beach. Many domestic tourists will claim that the beach bar is all they imagined, but families with children are unlikely to enjoy it.

Because the beach is sandy, walking on it is a delight. There is a gradual approach into the sea, and no algae or jellyfish are present. This location will be ideal for individuals who despise marine life and like to rest away from fine pebbles. The beach comes alive just before sunrise and transforms into a volleyball court. Other than the beach of São Pedro, there are few places on the island of São Vicente that are more ideal for young people.

This is a fantastic spot for folks who enjoy lying on a lounger and sipping a low-alcohol cocktail gently via a straw. Because the bar is close by, you can spend the entire day relaxing on the beach. It is possible to purchase not only alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, but also a variety of little items. If the client chooses to sleep in comfort, it will be right to the point. There is no need to be concerned about large waves because the water is calm.

  5. Laginha Beach is to Mindelo, Sao Vicente what Copacabana is to Rio de Janeiro! It's the home beach of Mindelo, the cultural center of Cape Verde, which is known for its music and artists. Mindelo is only a 10-minute walk away from the beach. It isn't particularly large, but it has the island's clearest blue waters and the finest golden sand!

A beach bar has opened, delivering refreshing drinks and delectable appetizers. It's the ideal spot for a day at the beach while watching Mindelo go about his business. Laginha Beach is wind-protected and safe for swimming. If you're lucky, you might even be able to help out at one of the beach events! But you should not go to Laginha Beach late at night because it may be unsafe! Just a short walk from the beach is Oasis Porto Grande Hotel and Kira's Hotel, both wonderful accommodation options on the island.

  6. Kite Beach is Cape Verde's best beach for water sports and kite surfers! You may either walk 20 minutes from Santa Maria or take a collective taxi to get there. Kite Beach in Sal is regarded as one of the top kite surfing beaches in the world, thanks to the strong winds and huge waves! Hundreds of multicolored kites can already be seen soaring around from afar!

Kite Beach in Sal, on the other hand, is not for anyone looking for a calm day on the beach! It's quite windy! If you want to learn to kite surf, though, this is the place to go! With any luck, your instructor will be a world champion in kite surfing! You'll have the opportunity to train alongside the greatest of the best! This beach in Sal is one of the greatest in Cape Verde!

  7. One of the famous beaches in São Vicente is Praia Grande! It's in the harbor between Bahia das Gatas and Calhau, on the island's east coast. The beach at Praia Grande is enormous, and when you go there, you are nearly alone! The views of the coast and the mountains of São Vicente turn this beach into a true Cape Verde paradise! The tides are quite strong here, and there were quite large waves when I went! So, rather of swimming, it's for playing in the waves!

After many hours of walking on the beach and playing in the waves, you can travel to Calhau (about a 15-minute drive) for lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants. Restaurant Hamburg (they cook their fish on the grill! ), Chez Loutcha, and Tony do Calhau are three places that you can try on. On Sundays, all of these restaurants are packed!

From Mindelo to Calhau, take an aluguer (collective cab) to Praia Grande. However, keep in mind that there are fewer aluguers (collective taxis) returning to Mindelo at night!

  8. Tarrafal Beach, located in the north of Santiago Island, is without a doubt one of the nicest beaches on the island. The lush Monte Graciosa and Tarrafal are nearby. Only a few years ago, Tarrafal was not touristy at all! The beauty of Tarrafal's beach is attracting an increasing number of visitors. Another reason to go to Tarrafal is to see the museum dedicated to political prisoners incarcerated in the concentration camp from 1936 until 1974.

This is a fantastic beach, and you can begin snorkeling as soon as you dip your head into the water. There are a lot of fish to see. The beach is sandy, tranquil, and conveniently located near eateries. There would be a mix of tourists and locals swimming, as well as a restaurant nearby. There was also parking available at the beach.

Because of its smooth beach, clean waters, and amenities, Tarrafal Beach is a sheer delight! Swimming is permitted, and it is a popular location for families. Because Tarrafal is one of Santiago's most popular vacation spots, stay wary of muggers at night!

  9. There are a few beaches in Santo Antao's northern reaches! This is great news because Santo Antao's top walks are all in the north! Cova – Paul Valley, Ponta do Sol – Fontainhas – Cha d'Igreja, and Xoxo are among of Santo Antao's most well-known trails.

Ponta do Sol is home to one of Santo Antao's largest populations and serves as the island's primary tourist destination. A picturesque town center, numerous bars and stores, and a vibrant local community can all be found here.

In Ponta do Sol, there are two swimming spots. You can either refresh yourself where the fisherman boats arrive or go to the Ponta do Sol beach, which can only be reached by traveling a difficult trail or by asking fishermen to transport you there.
This beach is known as "Praia de Lisboa" and is one of Santo Antao's only beaches. Please do not swim on the beaches between Ponta do Sol and Cha d'Igreja during your hike! Several vacationers have already killed as a result of the high tides!

  10. Praia de Cabral, commonly known as "Praia de Cruz," is a beach located near the town of Sal Rei on the northwest coast of the island of Boa Vista in Cape Verde. An abandoned chapel of Our Lady of Fatima can be found nearby in Praia de Fátima. In comparison to the other beaches in Boa Vista, it is quite small.

Sal Rei is merely the size of a town, even as a capital! As a result, it exudes Cape Verde's signature "no stress" feel.

If you're seeking for a wonderful day on the beach, though, you'll find everything you need. There are numerous beach bars that provide shade and cool drinks. Choose between a beverage and some local fresh fish specialties right on Praia de Cabral

On weekends, live music is performed, and every day, a menu of seafood specialties is available, which is highly recommended. The "fried Moreia" is a great appetizer that goes well with a beer. Excellent food at a very reasonable price, sunbeds are comfy and not charged for.
