Ponta do Sol Beach

There are a few beaches in Santo Antao's northern reaches! This is great news because Santo Antao's top walks are all in the north! Cova – Paul Valley, Ponta do Sol – Fontainhas – Cha d'Igreja, and Xoxo are among of Santo Antao's most well-known trails.

Ponta do Sol is home to one of Santo Antao's largest populations and serves as the island's primary tourist destination. A picturesque town center, numerous bars and stores, and a vibrant local community can all be found here.

In Ponta do Sol, there are two swimming spots. You can either refresh yourself where the fisherman boats arrive or go to the Ponta do Sol beach, which can only be reached by traveling a difficult trail or by asking fishermen to transport you there.
This beach is known as "Praia de Lisboa" and is one of Santo Antao's only beaches. Please do not swim on the beaches between Ponta do Sol and Cha d'Igreja during your hike! Several vacationers have already killed as a result of the high tides!
