Praia de Chaves

Praia de Chaves is worth a visit if you want to enjoy a beach scene that is second to none, with sand dunes as far as the eye can see. With 5.6 kilometers of sand surrounding you, you'll feel like you're the last person on the earth, so if you want to genuinely get away from it all, this is the place to be. The Iberostar Club Boa Vista, an all-inclusive hotel where you may wake up to the sound of the waves gently lapping up the shore, is one of only a few hotels sprinkled along this coastline on the west coast of the island. Praia de Chaves is a fantastic site for wind and kite surfing due to the consistent wind and size of the waves. It is a prominent surfing spot with a Kite & Surfing School. Because the waves can be quite rough at times, you only enter the water where and when permitted, and obey all lifeguard directions. It's also a great area to go for a walk along the water's edge, dodging the waves.
