Lake Mendota
The next position on the list of the best lakes to visit in Wisconsin is Lake Mendota. On the north, east, and south, the lake is bounded by Madison; on the west, by Middleton; on the southwest, by Shorewood Hills; on the northeast, by Maple Bluff; and on the northwest, by Westport.
One of Madison's four lakes, Lake Mendota, is a popular place for water sports. Wakeboarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and fishing are all popular lakeside summer activities. The 10,000-acre lake is equally well-liked for cross-country skiing, ice fishing, ice boating, and ice hockey in the winter.
Around Lake Mendota, there are seven public beaches that are popular gathering places for locals. There are 11 launch ramps located on various sides of the lake because boating is one of the most popular pastimes there.The position of Lake Mendota is one of its appealing qualities. Not only is it close to 11 parks, including Governor Nelson State Park, which offers eight miles of walking trails, picnic spots, and a sandy beach, but it is also in the state capital.
