Wazee Lake
In the town of Brockway, Jackson County, Wisconsin, the lake known as Wazee Lake is located east of Black River Falls. Wazee is a Ho-Chunk name that means "tall pine" in English. The artificial lake has a maximum depth of almost 108 meters, making it the deepest lake in the state of Wisconsin. Wazee Lake is arguably most known for scuba diving, despite the fact that many lakes in Wisconsin are popular for their beaches, boating, and kayaking options. The little village of Brockway and Black River Falls are beside the artificial lake in northern Wisconsin.
With a depth of 355 feet, Wazee Lake is the deepest lake in the state, which makes sense considering that it was formerly used as a quarry. The lake is one of the top places in the state for scuba diving today and is a component of the Wazee Lake Recreation Area.
Scuba lovers and those pursuing certification can enjoy diving to examine some of the mining remnants below the water because Wazee Lake is not only deep but also clear. For people who want to swim and engage in other water sports, the lake has a beach and a boat ramp.
