Lake San Mauricio

In the Spanish province of Lleida, Lake San Mauricio is located within the Aiguas Tortas and Lake San Mauricio National Park. At a height of 1910 meters, this Pyrenean lake gets water from the Ratera, Subenuix, and Portarró streams. It is situated at the base of a cirque glacier, an erosion-created valley that resembles an amphitheater.

Located in the "enchanted" peaks (Encantats in Catalan), Lake San Mauricio is a popular destination for locals and infrequent tourists who seek tranquility and rest in the midst of mountain pine trees. The dam was constructed to boost the lake's capacity, and as a result, it has a volume of 2.6 hm3 and a length of roughly 1100 meters. Skiing, climbing, and mountaineering are all done there.

The most accurate depiction of a hilly region is this lake. This region is particularly unique due to its breathtaking vistas and views, as well as the extremely diverse flora and wildlife that call its borders home. One of the most well-known lakes in the area is Sant Maurici Lake, from which one can observe the magnificent twin peaks of the Encantats.
