Le Rouleau de Printemps
The secret of Le Rouleau de Printemps has been out for a while, but it never fails to impress with its consistent excellence and deceptive simplicity. Because you can't book a table in one of the two postcard-sized rooms, get there early to snag a spot at the communal tables.
A coriander-scented bo bun, plump crisp egg rolls, a vegetarian spring roll, and steamed prawn ravioli for less than €20, sipped down with jasmine tea or Tsingtao beer, so take it easy on the occasionally hectic service. The staff is usually kind, but the food arrives randomly, sometimes in a bad state of presentation, as and when the matron in the kitchen finishes it - but at these rates, it's impossible to complain.
