Miss Banh Mi
Everything is right on in this beautiful Vietnamese canteen, with colorful flowers adorning the walls above Formica tables and guests eagerly awaiting their upmarket banh mi sandwiches (a crusty baguette, grated carrots, coriander and usually marinated beef, which you normally get as a budget lunch in Chinatown).
And, while it may be more expensive than the conventional form, any reservations are dispelled with the first bite: Eric Kayser bread, grated carrot, daikon, handmade soya mayonnaise, cucumber, coriander, spices, and four filling options, including prime beef marinated in sake and Phu Quoc pepper (there's also a vegetarian alternative) are all used in Miss Banh Mi's recipe. You must look for the soup of the day and handmade dark chocolate and sesame biscuits for dessert.
