Although research is limited, a few tiny studies have discovered evidence that music can assist enhance oxytocin levels in your body.
In a 2015 research, four jazz vocalists were instructed to perform two distinct songs: one improvised and one written. The vocalists' oxytocin levels increased when they improvised. According to the study's authors, this occurred because improved performance necessitates strong social characteristics such as collaboration, trust, and communication. A 2009 study found that 20 open-heart surgery patients who listened to music while on bed rest had greater oxytocin levels and were calmer than those who did not listen to music. Oxytocin levels increased in all subjects following a singing lesson in a 2003 study of 16 vocalists. Participants in the research also reported feeling more energetic and calm.
