Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz
Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, founded in 1904, is an international boarding school with around 220 boarding and 120-day school pupils aged 12 to 19. The "Spirit of Zuoz" outlines the school's philosophy and expresses principles that balance a strong sense of tradition and forward-thinking.
The school concept is dedicated to the unique progress of each and every student. It regards motivation, critical thinking, and creativity as essential components of the learning process. In-depth discussions with professors, counselors, and tutors assist students in recognizing and developing their skills in order to maximize their performance.
The Lyceum Alpinum in Switzerland stands for its wide range of academic choices. Swiss Matura, International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), and International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) are among the programs available to students.
Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz has five boarding houses: Spencer House, Kleinhaus, and Grosshaus for boys, and Chesa Arpiglia and Chesa Urezza for girls.
The houses provide a safe space for students to connect across year groups and face the challenges of school life in the company of supportive peers. All five houses embody keyboarding values of Respect, Active Engagement, and Personal Responsibility, which are critical for effective cohabitation in the community.
All leisure activities are overseen or supported by certified professors or autonomous student organizations. Participation in a recreational activity is encouraged and, in some situations, mandated. After the year, outstanding achievements and excellent community service are recognized with prizes.
The Heads of House of the individual boarding school houses of Lyceum Alpinum assume parental responsibilities and are available to their students 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whether it's exam stress, homesickness, or other difficulties, all pupils at the boarding school are free to express themselves openly to their house parents.
