Madden NFL 22 is a video game based on the National Football League (NFL) that was developed by EA Tiburon and distributed by Electronic Arts. It is the latest entry in the popular Madden NFL series, and it was launched for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who faced one other in Super Bowl LV the previous season, both feature on the cover for the second time, the first joint cover since Madden NFL 10.

The game, like previous entries in the series, garnered mixed reviews from critics, with praise for attempts to enhance Franchise mode but criticism for problems and a lack of originality elsewhere. This was the final Madden game released before the death of the franchise's namesake, John Madden. Madden's legacy will be recognized in the game beginning with the following iteration, Madden NFL 23.

In past years, the game had garnered significant criticism for a lack of features and upgrades to the franchise mode, particularly when contrasted to earlier versions from older console generations, such as Madden NFL 2005. According to an EA statement, Madden 22 will have "more complex staff management and skill tree advancement systems, with a full weekly game strategy that incorporates into [player's] gameplan", as well as many additional upgrades during the NFL season.
