PGA Tour
Since 1990, Electronic Arts - and later its EA Sports sub-label - has produced and marketed the PGA Tour series of golf video games. The series mostly contains courses from the PGA Tour of the United States, as well as other prominent courses (such as those that have hosted majors). EA began selling golf games with Tiger Woods' support in 1998. Following the release of Tiger Woods 99 PGA Tour Golf, future games were titled Tiger Woods PGA Tour and were published on an annual basis.
Although most games in the series were developed internally by EA Sports, some SKUs came from outside developers, such as the first edition, Tiger Woods 99 PGA Tour Golf, which Adrenalin Entertainment developed in collaboration with EA for the PlayStation and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001 for the PlayStation, which was developed by Stormfront Studios. IOMO has created mobile phone versions of the game for 2002, 2004, and 2005 editions. In October 2013, EA severed its agreement with Woods, and he was replaced by Rory McIlroy, the world's best golfer at the time, who became the franchise's new title athlete, known as Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.
