Mamula
Mamula, also known as Lastavica, is an uninhabited islet in the Adriatic Sea, located in the municipality of Herceg Novi in southern Montenegro.
At the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, Mamula is situated between the Prevlaka and Lutica peninsulas. This little islet has a diameter of 200 meters and is round in shape. Herceg Novi lies 3.4 nautical miles (6.3 kilometers) away.
The island was known as Rondina under the Venetian Republic's reign. A fort was built on the island in 1853 by Austro-Hungarian general Lazarus von Mamula. The fort occupies nearly all of the island's surface area.
