May Have Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Mangosteen's xanthones may have anti-inflammatory properties. Animal and test-tube research indicate that xanthones have an anti-inflammatory impact and may lower your risk of inflammatory disorders such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Mangosteen is also high in fiber, which has a variety of health advantages. For example, animal studies suggest that a higher-fiber diet may help lower your body's inflammatory response. While this research is promising, additional research is needed to better understand how mangosteen influences inflammation and disease progression in humans.

It has long been utilized as anti-inflammatory medication in Southeast Asian countries. Mangosteen extracts contain anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory characteristics, as well as the ability to block the production of histamine and prostaglandins, all of which are related to inflammation in the body. While it can certainly be used for these purposes, a study analyzing the limited scientific data concluded that, despite the numerous health claims of mangosteen, there is currently insufficient evidence to support the use of mangosteen-containing supplements to improve health and treat various pathophysiological illnesses.
