Moon Embracing the Sun

The Moon that Embraces the Sun (also known as The Sun and the Moon) is a 2012 South Korean television drama series starring Kim Soo-hyun, Han Ga-in, Jung Il-woo, and Kim Min-seo. It aired on MBC for 20 episodes from January 4 to March 15, 2012, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55.

The historical-fantasy drama is based on Jung Eun-novel gwol's with the same title. It depicts a touching love tale between a mythical Joseon monarch and a female shaman, as well as the tensions and conspiracies of competing political powers. The series received a 42.2 percent rating at its peak. At the 48th Baeksang Arts Accolades, it won Best Drama and Best Actor in a Television Series, as well as many awards at the 2012 MBC Drama Awards, including Drama of the Year.
