She Was Pretty

Hwang Jung-eum, Park Seo-joon, Go Joon-hee, and Choi Si-won feature in the 2015 South Korean television series She Was Pretty. It aired on MBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 22:00 from September 16 to November 11, 2015. The series was a hit both at home, with a peak rating of 18.4 percent, and abroad, particularly in China.

A romantic comedy based on a real tale about two old friends who reconnect after a reversal of fortunes and appearances, set in the setting of a fashion magazine's publishing office. Kim Hye-jin, dubbed the "Cha's," was a lovely girl from a wealthy family. She suffered through troubles after her family's publishing firm went bankrupt, and she also lost her attractiveness. Ji Sung-joon was an ugly young man with poor self-esteem who grew up to become a handsome and successful editor.

Sung-joon was unable to identify Hye-jin when the two met again as adults. Hye-jin is embarrassed to meet her first love and spoil his impression of her, so she begs her gorgeous best friend, Ha-ri, to stand in for her. Things quickly become problematic when Hye-jin is assigned to work in the publishing office of The Most magazine, where Sung-joon is the deputy chief editor. He openly mocks and ridicules her for her clumsiness, oblivious to the fact that she was his true childhood buddy. Ha-ri keeps running across Sung-joon and develops affections for him. Hye-jin, on the other hand, makes a nice buddy at work, Shin-hyuk, who gradually falls in love with her.
