Mulanje Porters Race
The Mulanje Porters Race - among the most famous festivals or now an international event - is organized by the Mount Mulanje Conservation Trust. Mulanje porters and other participants race up and down the 25km from Slope Mountain in one of Africa's craziest and toughest fitness challenges, crisscrossing the heights of the Horizon to Chamber. Cash, items, and assorted gifts are given to different winners, mainly the first three. Different words were broken by different winners. One of the winners, Kayange (of the Malawi Defense Forces) set a new course record of 2 hours 8 minutes 45 seconds.
