Sand Music Festival
Sand Music Festival is the most famous 3-day Malawi music festival in the Senga Bay area set up as an alternative to Lake of the Stars.
The most famous festival - Sand Music Festival was founded a decade ago by Malawi reggae singer Lucius 'Soldier' Banda, the Sand Music Festival presents itself as a barefoot beach party to compete with Lake of Stars, with African musicians drawing the dancing crowd with upbeat hip hop and reggae beats. The three-day show takes place on the sands of Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima, within striking distance of Lilongwe and backpacker havens, Monkey Bay and Cape Maclear, and next to the rustic resort of Senga Bay.
