Museum aan de Stroom (MAS), Antwerp
Museum aan de Stroom, located along the Scheldt River in Antwerp, examines the city's history and status as an important international port. The eye-catching 60-meter-tall structure is supposed to mimic boxes stacked in a spiral tower. It also has curving glass panels that give guests stunning views of the outside world. There are more than 180,000 exhibit objects to discover on the museum's nine levels. These vary from marine artifacts that reflect international trade to Antwerp's history and culture.
Art from Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania are also on show in the museum. Visitors may listen to background information in many languages by scanning QR codes on most things. They may also take an escalator to the top terrace, where they can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the city, the harbor, and the river below.
Location: Hanzestedenplaats 1, Antwerp 2000 Belgium
