Neptune Grouper
This is a stunning gold and white grouper. They can grow to be about a foot and a half long and are known to die on their own after being captured. These are around 7,000 USD. It can be found in coral reefs at depths ranging from 200 to 800 feet. This fish's natural habitat is the Indo-Pacific Ocean.
So, what makes this fish so unique if it can be found at depths greater than those of the Angelfish? The cost is primarily due to its scarcity. This fish is extremely rare and a hostile predator, making it difficult to keep in an aquarium. There are very few juvenile Neptune Groupers in captivity. Another young Neptune Grouper was added to the small captive population in 2012, thanks to a Singapore aquarium.
Because of its aversion to smaller fish, it is quite hostile to them. They require a large tank and will try to eat anything small and tasty in it. So don't pair it with any of your favorite fish!
