Nocturama
Bertrand Bonello is a rare actor that can play the narrative so well and portray the film from so many various views. Nocturama relies on the audience's comprehension, and it receives it. Bonello's constancy in making a film without explicit explanations shows us a tale as it is, and we must unravel it to understand it. The narrative follows and depicts the beauty of Parisian teenagers. At the same time, they commit a terrorist attack and subsequently engineer a sequence of circumstances that would lead to the final explanation of the sad occurrences.
The key point in the film is that such deeds are never fully explained, because Bonello never gives his heroes the opportunity to explain themselves. Furthermore, he extends that responsibility to us, the audience, who will scrutinize the faces of each innocent young person, what they've become, and what lies behind each decision made. The Parisian youth, presented in a unique way, is an important component of the film, mourning in its grandeur and confirming its rank. Bonello cleverly manipulates ideology, class, and terrorist attacks, and he solely relies on his audience's comprehension.
