Old Lisbon Restaurants
In the 1990s, when businessman Carlos Silva first came to Miami from his native Portugal, he was overjoyed to find a Portuguese restaurant getting ready for its debut. He knocked on the door and was greeted by the proprietor. He gave his fellow countryman a taste of what was to come by grilling a perfectly prepared bacalhao (codfish) and serving it with vinho verde. Carlos graciously handed out a twenty-dollar bill at the end of the lunch to become the restaurant's first patron.
You will know you are at the perfect place to enjoy homemade classic Portuguese foods and some fine Portuguese wines when you visit Old Lisbon in Coral Way, Miami, and listen to the Portuguese conversation of the patrons. The dining area has subtle decor and white tablecloths, which makes it nice without being ostentatious. Everyone may find something on the menu, which is full of a variety of seafood dishes. The food is the main attraction. If you want top sirloin slices with black beans and white rice, come on Monday because their lunch menu is always changing. Come on Friday for three different types of codfish.
