Otepää
Southern Estonia's Valga County has the town of Otepää, which serves as the parish's administrative hub. One of the first towns in Estonia is Otepää, which was first mentioned in 1116 Russian chronicles. Its name, Oti pää in Estonian, derives from the shape of the Town Hill (Linnamägi), which resembles the head of a bear. Additionally, it was here that Bishop Hermann began work on The Stone Fort, Estonia's first-ever brick castle, in 1224. The most well-known winter sports facility in the Baltics and Estonia's Winter Capital is Otepää.
Every summer, the lovely Lake Pühajärv beach in Otepää greets you with its clear sand, pier, beach volleyball courts, play areas, and gazebos. Pühajärve Park has informational signs and workout trails. There are activities there for both children and adults. Wheelchair users now have access to a separate pier and change area. On Pühajärve Beach throughout the summer, lifeguards, two catering businesses, Otisurf SUP-board rental, and Pühajärve boat rental (paddle boats and water cycles) are all in operation.
