Pushkar Lake
One of the most important places of pilgrimage and the location of the renowned Pushkar Fair is Pushkar Lake, which is found in the small town of Pushkar in Rajasthan's Ajmer district. The lake, which is surrounded by numerous temples and ghats (soaking areas), draws countless numbers of devotees each year who hope to find salvation and spiritual elevation by bathing in its sacred waters.
Given that the auspiciousness of this season is strongly stressed in Hindu sacred writings, the location becomes the center of sincere devotion and pilgrimage when the Kartik (Oct-Nov) month descends. Pushkar Fair simultaneously displays the vibrancy of Rajasthan in a beautiful way with unique colors, foods, dancing, a cattle fair, and various fun contests and activities. Pushkar Lake, with its extraordinary spiritual ambiance, continues to be a place of enduring awe and energy.
One of the lake's main draws is the Pushkar fair, and at this time, a massive influx of pilgrims and tourists arrives from all four directions. Prabhodini Ekadashi marks the beginning of the fair each year, which ends on Kartik Poornima. When visitors come from far and wide to take part in the vibrant celebrations, it is not only advantageous for the devotees to obtain spiritual merit by having a holy plunge in the lake's sacred waters, but it is also a fantastic business opportunity for the locals. The largest camel fair in Asia is held at the Pushkar fair.
