At some time during the celebration of Princess Serenity's birth, Queen Serenity had run into Queen Nehellenia. Nehellenia issued a curse that caused the Silver Millennium to fail before Queen Serenity imprisoned her into a mirror. The wicked prophecy was ultimately realized when Queen Metalia rose to power, seized control of Earth, and used its populace to incite a war against the Moon Kingdom that resulted in Princess Serenity's death. Everyone was reborn in the present because Queen Serenity dedicated her life to seal off Metalia and the Dark Kingdom, and the awakened Sailor Saturn destroyed what was left of the Silver Millennium.

Queen Serenity urged Sailor Moon to spend her life as a young lady because it is why she was reincarnated on Earth before she ran out of power.
