Yui Ikari

A fictitious character from the Neon Genesis Evangelion series is named Yui Ikari. Yui Ikari was a bright bio-engineer who worked for Project E at Gehirn. She was the mother of Shinji Ikari and the wife of Gendo Ikari. She is also the daughter of a prominent SEELE member. She passed away in 2004 as a result of her Contact Experiment with Unit-01, but her spirit continues to reside within Eva as a constant reminder that people still exist.

Despite being very sometimes seen in Lilin form, Yui Ikari is one of the series' most intimidating characters. When Yui is portrayed as a human, she is pleasant, upbeat, and maternal. Her confidence in humanity and her conviction that it is worth saving and remembering, however, stand out as the most outstanding aspects of her personality.

Shinji, Yui Ikari's son, piloted Unit-01 to annihilate the Angels throughout the duration of the series with Yui's soul still inside. NERV had a complex system of constraints, but when Shinji was in grave danger, Yui's spirit could take control of Eva's body. Berserk mode, a state of considerably heightened power and savagery, was the result of her control.
