Queen's Day
Summer is the Dutch festival season because early summer is Queen's day. This is a famous festival in the Netherlands and also one of the most famous and largest in the world. Queen's day takes place on April 30 - the birthday of Queen Juliana. This was proposed by Queen Beatrix in 1980, in honor of her mother.
On this day, there are vibrant activities everywhere in the Netherlands, especially in the two big cities of Amsterdam and The Hague, where the Dutch government, parliament, and royal offices are located. All the streets and alleys are filled with colorful flags and flowers. All eateries, restaurants, clothes... are covered with orange - the official color of the Dutch royal family.
On the night of Queen's Day, the streets of the Netherlands suddenly turn into spontaneous flea markets selling all kinds of goods. Pubs will also be open all night to welcome visitors. Dutch draft beer is the most consumed drink because of its particularly intoxicating taste. Its excitement and attractiveness have attracted millions of tourists around the world to witness and immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.
