Their mascot is the image of a small lion with the desire to win many achievements for the Seibu Lions. The result brought home 21 regional pennants and 13 national championships. In 2004, former Seibu Lions player Kazuo Matsui became the first Japanese quarterback to play in a Major League Baseball game.
