San Fernando Cathedral
The San Fernando Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de San Fernando), commonly known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Candelaria and Guadalupe, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in San Antonio, Texas, the United States. It is located in the city's main plaza. It is the mother church and the seat of the Archdiocese of San Antonio's archbishop. Its dome serves as the cultural and geographic hub of San Antonio. It is renowned for being one of the country's oldest cathedrals.
San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio brings history to life. The cathedral is not only Texas's oldest, but it is also famous for its participation in the Battle of the Alamo. Inside the cathedral, you can see the final resting place of some slain Alamo men, or come at night to see a 20-minute light show depicting San Antonio's history play across the church's facade.
