Sarma

Sarma is a restaurant and bar where music, food, and drink are all enjoyed in a lively celebration of life's wonderful things. A broad range of small plates (meze), which are designed to be shared with food-friendly cocktails, craft beers, or a glass of wine from a small but well-curated list, are available on the menu, which is modeled after the traditional meyhanes of Turkey. Chef Cassie usually sticks to traditional Mediterranean flavors, but she also incorporates inspiration from her travels and the people she meets into her own distinctive cooking style. The meal tastes exciting and modern, yet authentic, because she respects the underlying flavor profiles that first caught her eye.

Oleana provided the groundwork for Ana Sortun's second restaurant, Sarma, which is currently arguably more well-liked than its predecessor and equally accommodating to vegetarians. Salmon ceviche, baked feta, cauliflower fatteh, and Tunisian beef tartare are just a few of the over 40 Mediterranean small plates available, but the menu varies daily in accordance with the seasons. However, the regular off-menu specials never change and are distributed by the friendly wait staff in the style of dim sum (if the fried chicken is available, you take it—no questions asked). Regarding the cocktail menu, be ready to order a drink that features allspice and be blown away by it.
