Steirereck im Stadtpark
Heinz Reitbauer is the chef de cuisine of this two-starred Michelin restaurant in the lush Stadtpark, which is charmingly housed in a former dairy building from the 20th century. His tasting menus are an exuberant feast, bursting with natural, fundamental flavors befitting a chef of high standards. An extra €79/89 (six/seven courses) is charged for wine matching.
Seasons play a big part, but you could start with young beets and wild lettuce with chia and eucalyptus, then move on to milk-fed veal with melon, aubergine, and sorrel. Keep an eye out for the famous cheese trolley and scrumptious treats like milk and hay with raspberries. Reservations are required because the service is consistently excellent.
