Stockholm School of Economics in Riga
The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga, or Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskola in Latvian) is a business school in Riga, Latvia. It is a spin-off from the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). The Stockholm School of Economics founded the school in 1994 with the support of the Swedish government and the Latvian Ministry of Education on behalf of Latvia.
SSE Riga has been owned by a foundation formed by the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), the University of Latvia (LU), and the SSE Riga Alumni Association since 2010.
Given its small size, admission to SSE Riga is said to be highly selective. The curriculum at the school is entirely in English. It has consistently been ranked as the top business school in Latvia and among the best in Europe, along with its mother school, the Stockholm School of Economics. SSE Riga uses a variety of teaching methods, such as group work, summer internships, and case studies, and has exchange programs with many of Europe's top universities and business schools.
SSE Riga provides two degree programs: a three-year BSc in Economics and Business and a two-year Executive MBA. Both programs are taught in English, and there is a tuition fee. More than 2,300 BSc alumni have graduated, and more than 350 have completed the Executive MBA program.
