SUBIOS Underwater Festival
The SUBIOS Underwater festival sees the participation of numerous dive centers around the island as well as individuals both locally and from international communities. In an effort to grasp the interest of a wider audience, the festival includes a variety of activities related to the oceanic world and apart from its well-appreciated photographic competitions and lectures by famous visiting speakers.
It was a golden opportunity to see incredible images of the underwater world in the form of films and photographs. Other activities include a craft bazaar, boat excursions, open-air cinema shows, and creative writing competitions formed part of the festival. This SUBIOS Underwater festival strives to promote the conservation of marine life within three days of photographic exhibitions and film screenings on the world under the waves on the Beau Vallon Beach.
SUBIOS organizes dedicated events at hotels and a special school program to educate the nation’s youth concerning the fragility and the beauty of the islands’ marine ecosystems. Water sports and fishing will become more prominent on the SUBIOS agenda, drawing more attention to the healthy symbiotic relationship between man and the sea.
