Svaneke
Svaneke, the easternmost village in the nation, is really closer to Sweden than it is to Denmark and is located on Bornholm, an island in the Baltic Sea. The thriving fishing village is distinguished by its winding alleys lined with brightly painted half-timbered homes that descend to Svaneke's picturesque shoreline and active harbor. Svaneke's charming market is just a short stroll away from the port, and the town's famous smokehouse is a great site to sample freshly smoked fish.
Returning to Bornholm, we visit Svaneke, one of the island's most picturesque seaside communities. This odd fusion of heritage and modernity confirms our perception of the Nordic region. The unique circular Romanesque church dedicated to Saint IB or its windmills, including the oldest mill in Denmark, are some of its most intriguing and eye-catching structures. But also its Water Tower, a renowned Jrn Utzon creation that serves as a tank but attracts notice because of its unique shape.
