Teachers College, Columbia University has brought together visionaries who aspire to make the world a better place for all since its inception in the late nineteenth century. Morningside Heights, an uptown neighborhood, is home to TC. Morningside Heights steeped in culture and removed from the city's faster-paced and more tourist-filled areas is home to the Academic Acropolis, which includes Barnard College, Union Theological Seminary, and Columbia University's main campus. The campus of TC is made up of five residence halls and eight interconnected buildings.
Columbia University's Teachers College is the country's first, largest, and most comprehensive graduate school of education, health, and psychology. Thus, at TC, fields like educational psychology, nursing education, nutrition education, special education, conflict resolution, and spirituality and education were developed. For more than a century, they have prepared psychologists, nutritionists, health educators, speech pathologists, and other professionals, as well as teachers and school administrators, through more than 120 academic programs.
