In my current position, I had to deal with a client who believed he was being misled. The client believed he had been misled regarding the timeline for getting payment and was anticipating one to be paid to him. Even though I could see that we had provided him with the right information, I was aware that I needed to find a method to satisfy the client without outright correcting him. I first listened to his worry, repeating back what I heard and clarifying any ambiguities with questions. I assured him that I would come up with a solution. The consumer had not been misled about when to expect the money, but I was able to discover a solution to pay him earlier without incurring any costs for the business.
