The Architecture Of Zagreb
Croatia's capital, Zagreb, is a city not to be missed. It's also the country's largest city, so you can find anything there. From parks to pubs and museums, there's something for everyone. It's also a place that should be explored on foot.
The majority of the city's older structures are works of art in and of themselves. As a result, the best way to appreciate its beauty is to walk through its streets. The great thing about Zagreb is that there are so many free things to do!
Tourist can pay a visit to the beautiful Maksimir Park or the Zagreb Cathedral, for example. A lot of the places are also pet friendly! Don't worry if you brought your four-legged companion(s).You could, for example, walk along the Strossmayer promenade and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Zagreb. Many people consider this to be a romantic place to walk. So perhaps you could bring along a two-legged special friend as well.
There is one special place in Zagreb that is... unique... to say the least. The Mirogoj Cemetery is where you'll find it. Now, pay attention to what I'm saying. It may be dark or even morbid for some, but it's worth it.
This location is both an open art gallery and a lovely park. Many sculptures by Croatia's most famous sculptors can be found there. Aside from that, you might be interested in visiting the graves of some of Croatia's poets, artists, politicians, or nobility, as many of them are buried there.
- Location: northwest of Croatia, along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain.
