The Most Beautiful City In The World – Split
Split is unlike any other city in the world. Everyone who has lived there or still lives there will agree. It is the world's most beautiful city. Split has a unique flavor to it. You could call it the X factor. It also has the world's most wonderful and crazy football (soccer) fans. Torcida is their name, and Hajduk is their club. If you visit Split, you will see graffiti about one of those two, Torcida or Hajduk, on every other wall. This club is the lifeblood of the city and the region as a whole.
Diocletian, the Roman emperor, spent his summers in Split. His palace is in excellent condition and is likely the city's main attraction. Split was also the location for filming some episodes of the popular fantasy series Game of Thrones due to its many architectural monuments.
Above all, Split is a relaxed city. The most important word you will learn is "pomalo." "Take it easy," would be a rough translation. That should be your motto while you're here. Take your time, take in the scenery, and party hard because Split has a thriving nightlife scene. Also, while you're there, try as many of the local dishes as possible. The cuisine is fantastic here.
