The Byblos International Festival
The Byblos International Festival is a Lebanese festival hosted at Byblos, which is thought to be the earliest Phoenician city and was founded around 5000 BC. The festival is one of the biggest in Lebanon and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.
The event brings together a varied spectrum of foreign and local acts, including Moby and jazz pianist Jamie Cul Concerts are held in venues all across town over the course of a few weeks. As one of the most famous festivals in Lebanon, the event is extremely well organized, with enough ushers and assistants, lighting, and video screens to ensure that everyone in attendance can view the show. It also includes clean restrooms and numerous food and beverage kiosks.
Since 2003, The Byblos International Festival has been held in July. The festival takes place at the historic city's seafront, near the Phoenician temple, Roman theater, Crusader castle (built in the 12th century), and meandering souk. The festival's goals are to increase tourism, promote Lebanese culture, and convey music and art from the Middle East to the rest of the world.
