The Global Wildlife Center - Folsom
The Global Wildlife Center in Folsom is ideal if you're seeking a day trip. Global Wildlife breeds four-legged livestock of a different kind in a part of St. Tammany Parish that is often designated for rural residences, plant nurseries, and equestrian farms. The 900-acre free-roaming safari park Global Wildlife is reminiscent of Africa but is located in Louisiana. Numerous animals from all over the world find it to be a tranquil habitat thanks to the gentle rolling hills, a lake, the lack of predators, and the broad open spaces. At Global Wildlife, you might see animals with furs, such as camels, giraffes, zebras, kangaroos, deer, bison, and more.
Global Wildlife Center provides a dynamic experience throughout the year. Antler clashes and flying dust are common during the rut, or breeding season, which occurs in the autumn as male deer fight for control of their herds. The animals are undoubtedly more excitable in the cool, breezy weather, and it's a beautiful time for people to go on safari tours as well. As long as you’re dressed accordingly (it gets windy in those fields), winter tours are exciting. The animals are particularly "hungry," with many putting on weight in front of winter. With hundreds of deer giving birth in the spring, there are a lot of adorable newborns. Animals give birth all year long at Global, and a number of births have been seen by fortunate tourists.
