The Preparation

The Preparation tells the narrative of a mother Ae Soon (Go Doo Shim) and a son named In Gyu (Kim Sung Kyun)who is a man in his 30s but sees himself as a 7-year-old kid. Mrs. Ae Soon's life is a sequence of days spent alone caring for and protecting her eldest kid. When her husband died and her daughter abandoned her brother to marry a wealthy spouse so mother had to worried about In Gyu from the tiniest details.

For the past 30 years, Ae Soon's greatest concern has been that no one will care for In Gyu when she dies. This is finally going to happen when she finds that she only has a few months to live. Then, mother Ae Soon attempts to mask her sadness in front of In Gyu in order to teach her children independence so that when she is no longer living, her child may live happily. She taught him how to fry eggs, make rice, take the bus home or to work, and what it was like to "die". With the ordinary yet honest and emotional facts between mother and daughter Ae Soon and In Gyu, no audience member could possibly hold back their emotions while witnessing The Preparation.
