Thermador
Thermador is part of BSH Home Appliances Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, the second largest appliance manufacturer in the world. The Thermador brand specializes in cooking appliances such as dishwashers, ovens, ranges, refrigerators and hobs .
Thermador invented the first built-in oven and hob, and introduced stainless steel into household appliances. By 1948, Thermador introduced the first "Pro Range" for civilian use. Thermador developed the first home version warming drawer in 1952 based on commercial restaurant equipment. Thermador continued to improve kitchen appliances with the first self-cleaning oven in 1963.
Throughout the 1970s, Thermador continued to innovate. In 1970, the company introduced the first "smooth top" induction hob using materials developed by Corning Incorporated. In 1976, Thermador introduced the first oven, which combined thermal heat with microwave energy to cook 35% faster than conventional ovens :"Speedcooking". In 1978, Thermador introduced a second retractable pop-up window ventilation system.
