Toftastrand
The Baltic island of Gotland is around midway between Sweden and Latvia (approximately 100 kilometers / 60 miles). In addition to being Sweden's largest island, it is also home to many of the country's most beautiful beaches. The 2km (1.5 mile) long sandy Tofta beach is possibly at the top of this list. This is Gotland's second largest beach, stretching from Tofta in the south to Gnisvärds fishing hamlet in the north. It's a lovely site, with soft, near-white beaches gradually dipping into the typically frigid Baltic seas, and it's undoubtedly the most popular on the island.
During the summer, the beach is a hive of activity. Tofta Strand is a fantastic all-around beach with safe swimming for families and a variety of sports such as stand-up paddle boarding, kitesurfing, beach volleyball, and more. The southern end of the beach attracts a younger, more energetic audience, whilst the northern end is popular with families.
