Trattoria Stefano
Trattoria Stefano is a restaurant and bar in Sheboygan, Wisconsin's downtown district. The lovely brick structure, which is listed on the Wisconsin Historic Registry, was constructed in 1892. In 1994, Trattoria Stefano, a regional Italian trattoria, and Il Ritrovo, a certified Neapolitan pizza, opened, followed by Trattoria Stefano, a regional Italian trattoria, in 2000. Food & Wine Magazine, Madison Magazine, Wisconsin Trails, Milwaukee Magazine, Bon Apetit, and the Chicago Sun Times have all highlighted them. Stefano founded Field to Fork, a café and store that specializes in local and organic meats and veggies, in 2005. Saveur Magazine and the New York Times Magazine online both featured Field to Fork. The Duke of Devon, a traditional English gastropub, first opened its doors in 2006.
When you order Italian food from Trattoria Stefano in Sheboygan, you know you're getting the finest of the best; owner and operator Stefano Vigletti frequently funds visits to Italy for his employees to improve their own culinary methods and appreciation for the region's cuisine. The classic cuisine of the 21-year-old trattoria, especially its bread and sweets, are enhanced by natural, local ingredients. Try the ossobuco alla Millanese, which is braised veal shanks with saffron risotto, roasted beets, and fresh, sautéed spinach; or the ravioli alla Lombardia, which is six-meat ravioli with amaretti cookie, golden raisins, and Parmesan served in a brown butter and sage sauce and topped with candied almonds.
