Université Mouloud Maameri de Tizi Ouzou

The Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi Ouzou (French: Université Mouloud Mammeri de Tizi Ouzou) is an Algerian university. It bears the name Mouloud Mammeri. Naceur Eddine Haddachi is the university's rector as of 2012. There are eight faculties and twenty-five departments at the university. According to Executive Decree No. 17-77 of 20 June 1977, Algerian President Houari Boumediene inaugurated the Centre Universitaire de Tizi-Ouzou (C.U.T.O.) in 1977.

Université Mouloud Maameri de Tizi Ouzou (Tizi-Ouzou University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Tizi-Ouzou (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). The Université Mouloud Maameri de Tizi Ouzou (UMMTO) is a coeducational Algerian higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique, Algérie.

This 43-year-old Algerian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy that is based on entrance examinations as well as students' previous academic records and grades. International students are encouraged to apply for admission. UMMTO also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services such as a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.
