University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL)
With about 600 teachers and an astounding number of students (around 9,000), the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) is one of Portugal's most major public institutions.
It is located in Cidade Universitária, in the heart of Lisbon, next to the University of Lisbon's Institute of Social Sciences (ICS) and Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT). ISCTE was previously known as the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (in English, Higher Institute of Business and Labour Sciences), but its full name was discarded in 2009 when it became a foundational university institute. Despite its original status, ISCTE is now largely regarded as a fully-fledged public research university, as evidenced by national news coverage of Portuguese universities' international performance and open, external assessments by international organizations. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Engineering (AACE) have given ISCTE Business School institutional accreditation.
University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), which was founded in 1972, is a model for research in the field of social services. Its education is geared toward promoting long-term growth on both a national and global scale. This university has a very high rate of employability, which means that if you study here, you will play an important part in society in the future, whether in a corporation, government, or independent body.
